The THE BABY GARAGE project was launched in 2015 by Farah Ahmed, who aimed to help new mothers exchange baby essentials easily and safely. What started as a small Facebook group soon grew into a massive online platform, now connecting over one million mothers and thousands of traders across Egypt.
The platform enables users to buy and sell new and pre-owned baby products — including strollers, clothes, toys, and feeding supplies — all while ensuring quality and affordability.
Farah Ahmed explains that the vision behind the platform is to promote smart consumption, sustainability, and community sharing among parents.
In 2022, the platform launched its official website, reaching over 100,000 listed items and generating more than EGP 4 million in sales. With a dedicated team of 21 professionals, THE BABY GARAGE continues to grow as one of Egypt’s leading digital communities for mothers.
During her appearance on Shark Tank Egypt, Farah sought an investment of EGP 9 million for a 10% equity share, aiming to expand the business regionally and enhance the app’s capabilities.
Today, THE BABY GARAGE stands as more than an e-commerce platform — it’s a social innovation that empowers mothers, supports sustainability, and redefines how families engage with baby essentials.
