The Harassment Phantom in El-Matariya… Suspect Arrested After a Month-Long Chase and Terrorizing a Girl in Front of a Shop
Suspect referred to criminal court in El-Matariya for harassment after 4 days of detention.
In less than 24 hours, the El-Matariya Public Prosecution, headed by Counselor Karim Hanafi and supervised by the East Cairo Attorney General Counselor Shadi Al-Barqouqi, decided to refer the suspect accused of harassing a girl in front of a shop in the El-Matariya area to the criminal court, after detaining him for 4 days pending investigation.
The girl told the prosecution that the suspect had been repeatedly following her for over a month. He is known in the area for his inappropriate behavior and involvement in similar cases. She added that the latest incident happened in front of a shop, where the suspect committed immoral acts while standing behind her, causing her shock and fear. The girl confirmed that this experience led her to share the incident’s details on her social media accounts to warn others and expose the suspect’s behavior.
On the other hand, the suspect denied the accusations during the investigations, pleading innocence. Meanwhile, the prosecution continues to complete the investigation procedures before referring the case to the competent court for trial.
