Traffic Diversions Announced Ahead of the Grand Egyptian Museum Opening
Egypt’s Ministry of Interior has announced temporary traffic diversions in Cairo and Giza to ensure smooth traffic flow during the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
As Egypt prepares for the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum on Saturday, November 1, the Ministry of Interior has issued a series of temporary traffic diversions to maintain smooth traffic movement and facilitate access around key routes leading to the museum.
According to the ministry, the traffic plan aims to minimize congestion during the high-profile event, with alternative routes clearly marked and traffic officers deployed across all major intersections.
The main diversions include:
Nile Street, Giza:
Vehicles coming from University Bridge Square to below the 15th of May Bridge should take El-Batal Ahmed Abdel Aziz Street as an alternative route.
Ring Road:
Drivers coming from Al-Salam Bridge should take the Al-Salam Tunnel exit toward Gesr El-Suez.
Nile Corniche Axis:
Traffic coming from the 15th of May Bridge to Athar El-Nabi Square should take Tahya Misr Axis instead.
6th of October Central Axis:
Drivers from Juhayna Square to Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road should follow Dahshur Connection via Wahat Road.
Cairo-Alex Desert Road:
Vehicles from Sphinx Airport to the Grand Egyptian Museum should take the service road toward Dahshur Link or head to Tahya Misr Axis.
26th of July Corridor:
Drivers from Lebanon Square to Arabi Axis should use the Ring Road entrance toward the Western Arc.
The Ministry emphasized that traffic patrols will be deployed throughout the affected routes to assist drivers and ensure the flow of vehicles, urging all road users to follow the traffic instructions for their safety and convenience.
The Grand Egyptian Museum is considered one of the world’s largest archaeological museums, housing thousands of artifacts representing the legacy of ancient Egyptian civilization, and the opening ceremony is expected to attract international attention and attendance.

Criminal Investigations Between Prosecution Authority and the Guarantees of Presumption of Innocence
Counselor Nevin Wahsh emphasizes that criminal investigations, despite their importance in the initial detection of crimes, cannot be considered fully-fledged evidence in criminal proceedings.
