A tragic incident in Maadi has stirred sorrow and shock, as a 19-year-old medical student took his own life by jumping from the 11th floor of a residential building after going through a severe psychological crisis.

The incident began when Maadi Police Department received a report of a young man falling from a great height. Security forces immediately moved to the scene, where preliminary examination revealed the student’s body, fully clothed and with no signs of violence or struggle.

Investigations by Cairo’s Criminal Investigation Department found that the young man had recently been in a deteriorating psychological state due to failing his exams and his beloved sister being diagnosed with a serious illness. The combination of these pressures reportedly overwhelmed him, ultimately leading to his tragic decision to jump from his apartment balcony in a moment of despair.
The body was transferred to Zeinhom morgue under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, which ordered a forensic examination. Authorities also took statements from family members and neighbors, all of whom confirmed the young man's recent emotional struggles. Investigators ruled out any criminal suspicion in the incident.

This heartbreaking event has once again highlighted the importance of mental health among young people and the urgent need for psychological and familial support, especially during critical academic and developmental stages.
