In a related context, the U.S. State Department warned against continuing to travel in the border areas near the Gaza Strip, urging citizens to remain within designated evacuation zones and to avoid hot spots. It confirmed working with its international partners to secure additional seats on flights if necessary.
On the other side, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, Imam Khamenei, considered the “foolish and malicious attack” by the Zionist entity on Iranian territories to have occurred at a time when all government efforts should have been devoted to indirect negotiations with the United States. He indicated that the absence of any signs of a military intention by Iran at that time reinforces the hypothesis of American complicity in this conspiracy, especially with the contradictory official statements recently issued by Washington.
Khamenei expressed pride in the resilience and unity of the Iranian people in facing what he described as an imposed war, affirming that “Iran will not accept any imposed peace,” and that a firm response would be a legitimate option to defend its sovereignty. He called for uniting ranks and supporting the armed forces until the external threat is eliminated, stressing that Iran will continue developing its defensive capabilities as a deterrent to any future aggression.
