Yasmin El-Khateeb expressed her disapproval of the negative comments directed at Dr. Heba Kotb’s daughter following her wedding, stressing that "everyone has the right to celebrate in their own way — even if someone decides to put roasted chicken on the wedding cake, joy means happiness and personal freedom."
Speaking on the TV program Masa’ El-Yasmin aired on Al-Shams channel, El-Khateeb revealed her surprise upon discovering that the bride was Dr. Heba Kotb’s daughter. This, she explained, reminded her of an article she wrote 10 years ago addressing Kotb’s controversial statements on female circumcision.
El-Khateeb recalled that one of the strangest remarks she heard from Dr. Kotb was her claim that circumcision does not affect sexual life. She countered this by stressing that medical evidence confirms otherwise, as circumcision has harmful effects not only physically but also psychologically, leaving deep emotional scars that may never heal.
