🟢 Acalculous Cholecystitis
Acalculous cholecystitis is an inflammation of the gallbladder without gallstones ⚠️
It usually occurs as a complication of a severe medical or surgical condition.
🧪 Causes
1. Increased bile viscosity
Bile stasis and thickened bile may occur in:
🏥 Critically ill patients
🦠 Sepsis patients
💉 Long-term TPN patients
❤️ Cardiac patients
🩸 Diabetic patients
❗ Lack of oral feeding reduces cholecystokinin, leading to poor gallbladder contraction.
2. Gallbladder ischemia
Caused by:

💧 Dehydration
❤️ Heart failure
➡️ This leads to reduced blood flow and gallbladder wall damage.
