A recent study by researchers at Flinders University in Australia shows that regular tea consumption may help enhance bone health in women, compared to those who primarily drink coffee.

The study followed around 10,000 women over ten years, monitoring changes in bone mineral density. Results indicate that tea contains natural compounds called catechins, which slow bone density loss and support bone formation, while coffee may negatively affect calcium absorption and bone metabolism.

Dr. Enno Liu from the Flinders University School of Medicine and Public Health explained that any improvement in bone density could reduce fracture rates, emphasizing moderation in both tea and coffee consumption.

The researchers concluded that a daily cup of tea, especially for older women, may be a simple yet effective step toward stronger bones and better overall health.
