A tragic incident occurred in Tanbadi village, Maghagha, North Minya, where a 13-year-old boy lost his life after a donkey attacked him, triggering severe neurogenic shock that caused his heart to stop suddenly.
The Minya Security Director, Major General Hatem Hassan, received a report from the emergency operations room that the child had arrived at Maghagha General Hospital deceased. His family claimed that the donkey attack was the cause of death.
Police investigators examined the scene and the body, finding no visible fatal injuries from the bite or attack.
Medical reports revealed that the real cause of death was acute neurogenic shock, triggered by extreme fear and panic during the attack, leading to instantaneous cardiac arrest before any physical wounds could affect him.
The public prosecution ordered a forensic examination to confirm the absence of any criminal suspicion and authorized burial after completing legal procedures.
The incident left the residents of Tanbadi village in mourning as they attended the boy’s funeral. Doctors warned of the dangers of sudden psychological shocks in children and their potential to cause critical heart failure.
