16-Year-Old Arrested for Assaulting Young Child in Agouza; Legal Action Underway
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in Agouza, Giza, after allegedly assaulting a 5-year-old child inside a residential building. Investigations are ongoing.
Security forces in Giza have arrested a teenage student accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old boy inside the entrance of a residential building in the Agouza district.
The incident came to light when the child's mother visited the police station with her son and filed an official complaint, stating that the teenager had lured the child into the building’s entrance and assaulted him.
Responding swiftly, the police identified and apprehended the suspect. During initial questioning, the teen confessed to committing the act. He was taken into custody, and a formal report was filed with the public prosecution, which is now handling the investigation.
Under Egyptian child protection laws (Law No. 12 of 1996), any offense involving minors is treated with utmost severity. The law stipulates strict penalties, especially when the victim is under 18 years old, and the case may result in aggravated charges depending on the findings of the prosecution.

In a separate case in Sheikh Zayed city, a 60-year-old man reported that his cousin, aged 40, had assaulted his two sons, aged 11 and 9. The accused was arrested and confessed during interrogation. Legal action is currently underway in that case as well.
