Egyptian security forces successfully seized nearly 5 million expired pills and dietary supplements from two unlicensed warehouses in Misr El-Qadima, Cairo.
The operation was part of a major campaign by the General Administration for Supply and Internal Trade Police under the Economic Security sector, targeting fraud hubs and protecting citizens from health risks posed by expired medicines.
The warehouse operators were arrested and admitted possession of the seized items for illegal distribution. Legal measures were taken, and the authorities prepared the confiscated drugs for destruction.
In a separate incident in Al-Sharqia Governorate, authorities captured a taxi driver using drugs while driving within Minya El-Qamh Police District.
Investigations revealed that the driver was unlicensed, had a criminal record, and possessed two cannabis cigarettes for personal use. The vehicle was seized and full legal actions were taken to ensure public safety.
