Investigating authorities have referred the ex-husband of a well-known blogger to trial after accusations that he assaulted her during a scheduled child visitation visit, following extensive inquiries into the incident.
What was supposed to be a calm, human moment between two parents meeting their child turned into an altercation that quickly escalated onto social media, ultimately leading to legal action and the referral of the accused to trial.
Referral to trial
The investigation authorities decided to refer the ex-husband of a blogger to criminal court after he was accused of assaulting her during a child visitation meeting, an incident that sparked widespread public attention.
How the story began with a viral video
The case initially surfaced after a video spread across social media showing a woman speaking about severe psychological distress caused by ongoing disputes with her ex-husband, claiming the situation had led her to contemplate suicide.
Police investigations reveal details
Security forces later identified the woman as a resident of the First Tanta Police District. When questioned, she denied any intent to commit suicide, explaining that the video was recorded during a period of emotional distress due to family disputes already documented in official reports.
Investigations also confirmed previous legal complaints between both parties related to child visitation rights.
A dispute during visitation
Reports indicated that a physical altercation occurred between the two parties on the 10th of the month during a scheduled visitation meeting, stemming from disagreements over their child’s access and custody arrangements.
