The accused in the public bus harassment case arrived at Al-Maqattam Misdemeanor Court, held at Zeinhom Court Complex, for the first session of his trial. The incident involved harassment of a girl while traveling on a bus in the Maadi area of Cairo.
Investigations revealed that the case emerged from videos circulated on social media, showing the alleged harassment and pursuit of the victim by the suspect inside the bus.
The victim, an employee residing in Suez Governorate, stated that she was verbally harassed by the suspect when leaving her workplace and again while boarding a public bus, prompting her to record the incident.
Security authorities later identified and apprehended the suspect, a worker residing in Dakahlia Governorate, who denied all allegations and any prior acquaintance with the victim. The Public Prosecution is investigating the case and has taken the necessary legal measures before the trial.
