Egyptian security authorities have arrested two suspects in separate criminal cases in Giza and Minya. The first involved the theft of equipment from an agriculture college, while the second concerned financial fraud through impersonating a bank customer service representative.

Scrap Worker Arrested Inside Agriculture College

Police arrested a 30-year-old scrap worker after he was caught attempting to steal equipment from inside the Agriculture College.

Investigations revealed that the suspect climbed over the college wall, broke into a storage room, and stole laboratory gas lamps, firefighting hose components, faucets, and plumbing fixtures before being apprehended by campus security.

  • One key.
  • Two sink mixers.
  • Fourteen water faucets.

The suspect confessed to committing the theft, and prosecutors ordered his detention pending investigation.

Fraud Suspect Arrested in Minya

In a separate operation, security forces arrested a suspect accused of impersonating a bank customer service employee to deceive victims into revealing their payment card information.

Fraud Scheme

According to investigations, the suspect contacted victims by phone, claiming that their banking information needed updating or offering assistance in obtaining loans.

He then used the stolen payment card information to:

  • Make online purchases.
  • Transfer funds to electronic wallets under his control.

Evidence Seized

Authorities recovered:

  • Three mobile phones.
  • Nine SIM cards.

Technical examinations confirmed the presence of evidence supporting the suspect's criminal activities.

The suspect admitted responsibility for eight fraud incidents, and legal proceedings have been initiated while investigations continue.
