Security forces have uncovered the circumstances surrounding a widely circulated social media video showing a young man holding an electric wire while attempting to assault and threaten his mother inside their home in Alexandria.
Investigations revealed that no prior official report had been filed. Authorities identified the woman, a housewife residing in the Second Raml police district. Upon questioning, she stated that her son — a worker with prior criminal records — verbally and physically assaulted her and threatened to electrocute her using an electric wire. He also allegedly attempted to tie her to a bed.
She explained that the incident stemmed from his repeated demands for money to purchase narcotics. When she refused to provide him with funds, the situation escalated into violence.
The suspect was later apprehended in possession of the electric wire used in the incident. During questioning, he confessed to committing the assault for the same reason stated by his mother.
Legal measures have been taken, and investigations are ongoing to determine further details of the case.
