A partial building collapse occurred on Friday morning at building No. 29 on Agadir Street in the Gheit El-Anab district of western Alexandria, injuring three women who lived in the property.
Emergency services and local authorities immediately rushed to the scene, dispatching ambulances to transfer the injured to Al-Gomhouria Hospital for medical care. Security forces cordoned off the area to ensure public safety and prevent further incidents.
Initial investigations revealed that the ceiling of one room had collapsed, and that the building consisted of a ground floor and three upper stories covering approximately 60 square meters. Authorities noted that the building had a prior restoration order (No. 166 of 2025) for repairing the lower structure and removing unsafe sections.
Alexandria Governor Major General Ahmed Khaled Hassan Saeed stated that he has been following up on the incident closely, directing officials to secure the property, support the victims, and inspect nearby buildings for any risks.
Last week, the same district witnessed a similar tragedy when part of an old inhabited building collapsed, killing a woman and her teenage daughter and injuring an elderly woman. Investigations later confirmed that the building had multiple unimplemented restoration orders.
Authorities continue to review the structural safety of aging properties across Alexandria to prevent further incidents and ensure the protection of residents.
