Egyptian security authorities have revealed the circumstances surrounding a viral social media video showing a toktok overturning onto two children in Beheira Governorate. Police have identified and arrested the driver while seizing the vehicle.

According to the Ministry of Interior, on July 8, Hosh Issa Police Station received a report from a local hospital stating that a schoolgirl and her brother had been admitted with injuries following a traffic accident.

Their father told investigators that the children were walking along the street when a toktok overturned onto them after the driver lost control of the steering.

Driver Arrested

Police investigations led to the identification and arrest of the driver shown in the video. Authorities also found that the toktok was operating without license plates.

During questioning, the driver admitted causing the accident, stating that it happened unintentionally after he lost control of the vehicle.
