The Cairo Economic Court has upheld a one-year prison sentence and a EGP 20,000 fine against blogger Hadir Abdel Razek, after she was convicted of posting indecent and immoral videos on social media platforms to gain followers and profit from ads.
According to investigations, Abdel Razek shared suggestive and inappropriate content on her Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok accounts. Authorities confirmed that she used these platforms to promote immoral behavior and violate family and social values in Egypt.
The court stated that her actions represented a clear breach of public decency and community ethics, emphasizing that her goal was fame and financial gain through provocative content.
Investigators added that the videos featured inappropriate displays of women’s lingerie, prompting her referral to trial. The final ruling upheld her one-year imprisonment and EGP 20,000 fine as a legal deterrent to similar offenses.
