Blogger Hadir Abdel Razek Transferred to Prison to Serve One-Year Sentence for Indecent Videos
Egyptian blogger Hadir Abdel Razek begins serving her one-year prison sentence after her appeal was rejected by Cairo’s Economic Court for posting indecent online content.
Blogger Hadir Abdel Razek has been transferred to prison to serve her one-year sentence after the Cairo Economic Court upheld the previous verdict and rejected her appeal. She was also fined EGP 100,000 for publishing indecent videos and images that violated public morals.
Investigations revealed that Abdel Razek shared inappropriate and suggestive content on her social media platforms — Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok — in order to gain views and followers.
According to the Public Prosecution, the blogger promoted immoral and indecent behavior through visual content featuring suggestive poses and language, contradicting Egyptian family and social values.
The court emphasized that the videos included inappropriate displays of women’s lingerie, constituting a breach of public decency laws and falling under charges of inciting debauchery and violating cybercrime regulations.
With this ruling, Abdel Razek officially begins serving her sentence, marking a clear message against publishing immoral content online.
