Security forces in Cairo arrested a car attendant after a video circulated online showing him demanding money from citizens in exchange for waiting their vehicles, causing public outrage.
Investigations identified the suspect (unemployed, resident in Rod El-Farag police district), who admitted to the act as shown in the footage. Legal procedures were immediately initiated, and the Public Prosecution is conducting the investigation.
Separately, the Economic Security sector seized a massive stock of counterfeit cooking oils, including 4,788 tons in bottles and 17 tons in tanks, all without official documentation and bearing fake brand labels, along with 6,000 fake stickers, 18,300 empty bottles, caps, cartons, and three filling machines at a warehouse in Shebin El-Qanater, Qalyubia.
These items were intended for illegal market distribution to deceive consumers and generate illicit profits, and the Public Prosecution has taken over for further legal action against those responsible.
