A dramatic scene took place at a well-known bank in Giza, when a client launched a violent attack on staff members using a fire extinguisher, following a dispute related to his late father’s inheritance.
Police from the Giza station received a report from the bank manager, stating that a man — a contractor by profession — had gone into a fit of rage and assaulted employees after being unable to access his inheritance funds due to legal restrictions.
Investigations revealed that the suspect had visited the bank several times to claim his inheritance, but when he was informed that the funds were legally frozen, he lost control. In his anger, he grabbed a fire extinguisher and discharged it, damaging a glass vase and the branch manager’s wooden desk.
Security personnel managed to restrain the man until the arrival of the police, who arrested him and transferred him to the station for questioning. The Public Prosecution has begun its investigation, while the bank is assessing the extent of damages to pursue legal action.
