Authorities decided to close Kiani Café in Nasr City and file a case against its owner and content creator TikToker Krowan Mashakel for inviting the public to a “Potato Party” without obtaining the required permits.

Security forces arrested Krowan Mashakel and the café owner after verifying that the event contained inappropriate content and unethical behavior, and that similar events had been organized previously for trends and views.

Krowan Mashakel faces multiple legal challenges, including a 6-month prison sentence in January 2025 for obscene videos with Engy Hamada, defamation and insult cases such as the Riham Said case, and incidents related to his chaotic wedding held in an unlicensed hall, leading to his and his brother’s arrest.

Known as Mohamed Fathy, Krowan Mashakel is recognized for posting controversial and indecent videos in pursuit of rapid fame, which resulted in multiple legal actions against him.
