Security forces in Kafr El Sheikh, in coordination with Matrouh Police Directorate, arrested the suspect who killed an elderly woman and her son in Al-Azba Al-Bayda, Al-Hamra village, after fleeing to Libya following the crime.
The suspect, a tailor from the village, confessed that the crime stemmed from a previous dispute with the victim Abu El-Kheir Samir Ali (“Ahmed”), over an alleged harassment incident involving the victim’s fiancée, which ended in a customary settlement requiring the victim to pay 32,000 EGP.
Feeling humiliated, the suspect decided to take revenge. He constructed a 6-meter iron ladder and prepared a sharp knife to carry out his plan.
At 3 AM, he sneaked into the victim’s house, went to the floor where the son was sleeping, killed him, and then attacked the mother upon waking for Fajr prayer, restraining both with ropes.
After the crime, he attempted to flee to Libya and sought help from his uncle to dispose of the bodies, but the uncle refused.
The security forces managed to apprehend him within 48 hours of the crime. The bodies were transferred to Kafr El Sheikh General Hospital morgue, and the prosecution later approved burial in the family cemetery in Al-Hamra village.
