Egyptian security authorities have reported the arrest of two content creators following investigations into social media videos featuring dance performances in clothing described by officials as offensive to public decency.
Content Creator Arrested in Hadayek October
The General Administration for Protecting Public Morals, part of the Specialized Police Sector, monitored videos posted by a female content creator on her social media pages.
According to the security statement, the videos showed her dancing in clothing described as offensive to public decency and inconsistent with community values.
After obtaining the necessary legal authorization, security forces arrested the woman while she was in the jurisdiction of the Hadayek October Police Department in Giza. Authorities said she had a criminal record.
Mobile Phone and Drugs Seized
A mobile phone was reportedly found in the suspect’s possession. After examining it, authorities said they found evidence allegedly confirming her activity involving the publication of the videos.
Security forces also seized a quantity of hashish in her possession.
When questioned, the woman reportedly admitted publishing the videos to increase views and generate financial profits. She also admitted possessing the drugs for personal use, according to the security statement.
Legal procedures were subsequently taken against her.

After obtaining the necessary legal authorization, security forces arrested her while she was in the jurisdiction of the Second Mansoura Police Department in Dakahlia Governorate.
A mobile phone was reportedly seized from her possession. Authorities said an examination of the device revealed evidence allegedly confirming her social media activity.

When questioned, the second suspect reportedly admitted posting the videos on her social media page to increase views and generate financial profits.
Legal procedures were taken in connection with the case, and the matter was referred to the competent investigative authorities.
