The North Giza Criminal Court has postponed the hearing of the defendants’ appeal in the indecent act case on Al-Mahwar Road to February 16, pending civil suit notifications.
The court had previously issued varied sentences for the defendants following the circulation of a video showing a young man and three girls in a private car, considered by the complainant as an indecent act in a public place.
Sentences included acquittal for the fifth defendant, imprisonment for defendants one to four with fines and bail, and temporary civil compensation to the claimant.
According to the prosecution, defendants one to four displayed force and threatened the victim to intimidate and cause material and moral harm, actions that disrupted public peace and security.
