The October City Appellate Court accepted the appeal of Monia Gaber’s son against his six-month sentence in a case involving his dog biting a designer, and reduced the punishment to 24 hours in jail.
The incident began with a report to Giza Security Directorate by a designer, stating that she was bitten by a dog owned by the son of the retired actress and director Hany Lasheen while working in his apartment in October City on interior design tasks.
The complainant stated that she was attacked by the dog, causing injuries, and accused the owner of failing to take necessary precautions to prevent the incident.
Following the report, a police case was filed, and legal procedures were taken. Investigators examined the case, listened to statements from both parties, and reviewed the medical reports of the injured party.
The lower court had originally sentenced the defendant to six months in jail, but after filing an appeal, the October City Appellate Court accepted it procedurally and reduced the sentence to 24 hours.
