Egyptian investigative authorities have ordered the renewal of the detention of blogger Dahab Ashraf and three others for 15 days, pending investigations into allegations involving an assault on a woman and her young daughter in Cairo’s Mokattam district.

The decision follows an investigation into a video circulated on social media that showed allegations involving a content creator and an altercation with a woman and her daughter.

The incident reportedly began on August 11, when a woman accompanied by her 8-year-old daughter filed a complaint at the Mokattam Police Station.

The woman and her daughter were reportedly found to have various injuries and bruises.

According to the complaint, the woman accused a housewife, her two daughters and four other women, including a content creator, of assaulting her and her daughter following a dispute related to children playing.
