The Shubra El-Kheima Criminal Court, First Appellate Division, issued its verdict in the widely covered “Dark Web” case. The court sentenced the first accused, Tarek A.A., 29, to death by hanging following the Grand Mufti’s opinion, while the second accused, Ali M.A., 15, received 15 years of rigorous imprisonment due to his minor age.
According to official reports, the first accused deliberately killed the child Ahmed M.S.M., with the second accused’s agreement and assistance, after arranging the crime for a sum of 5 million EGP. The perpetrator lured the child to his residence, administered a drink containing medical substances to render him unconscious, and then strangled him with a belt, resulting in the child’s death, as confirmed by the autopsy report.
The first accused had also possessed a knife, a surgical scalpel, and a leather belt, while the second participated by incitement, agreement, and supplying details about the medical substances used in the crime.
Despite repeated attempts by the second accused’s family to settle and offer compensation, the victim’s family rejected all proposals.
