The prosecution authorities in 6th of October City have ordered the release of the defendants involved in the obscene act incident on the Giza Axis, after each paid a bail of EGP 5,000, following interrogations over the viral video that spread widely across social media.

The Ministry of Interior issued an official statement clarifying the incident’s circumstances, stating that a circulated video showed a man filming another person inside a car accompanied by several women who appeared to be engaging in indecent acts before assaulting him and damaging his car in protest of being filmed.

The statement added that the security examination revealed no official complaints were filed regarding the matter, but the authorities successfully identified and apprehended all those involved, including the man seen in the footage—who has a criminal record—and three women residing in the Al-Ahram area of Giza.

During questioning, the defendants admitted to committing the act after consuming alcoholic beverages while driving around Giza. They confessed to assaulting the man, damaging his vehicle, and attempting to seize his mobile phone after noticing he was recording them without their consent.
