Dispute Over Right of Way Leads to Car Damage in Alexandria
A quarrel broke out between two drivers in Alexandria’s Moharram Bey district over right of way, escalating into a physical altercation that caused damage to a taxi before police intervened.
A traffic dispute in Moharram Bey, Alexandria, turned violent after an argument between a private car owner and a taxi driver over who had the right of way. The disagreement escalated when the private car driver attacked the taxi and caused visible damage using a wooden stick.
According to the Alexandria Security Directorate, social media videos showed the private car driver verbally and physically assaulting the taxi driver in the middle of the street. Investigations revealed that the incident occurred on October 2, and both parties were residents of Bab Sharqi and Moharram Bey districts respectively.
Police officers from Moharram Bey Police Department arrived at the scene, recorded the incident, and referred both individuals to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
