Driver Arrested in Qalyubia for Possessing Drugs After Appearing Disoriented in Viral Video

Egyptian security forces arrested a driver in Qalyubia after a viral video showed him behaving erratically. Investigations revealed he was in possession of drugs, which he admitted to using.

The Ministry of Interior revealed details about a viral video circulating on social media showing a man in a state of disorientation in Qalyubia Governorate.

Following an investigation, police identified the man as a driver with prior criminal records residing in the Shubra El-Kheima First Police Department area. After obtaining the necessary authorization, officers arrested him and found a quantity of “powder” narcotics in his possession.

When confronted, the driver admitted to possessing and using the drugs, explaining that he was under their influence at the time the video was recorded.

Legal action was taken, and the suspect was referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation, as part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to combat drug use and maintain public safety and order.
