Drug Ring Worth 180 Million EGP Busted: Security Forces Capture Major Narcotics Network in Suez
Egypt’s Ministry of Interior has dismantled a major criminal network in Suez, arresting seven dangerous suspects and seizing narcotics valued at 180 million EGP.
Security forces from Egypt’s Ministry of Interior successfully dismantled a major drug trafficking network operating in Suez Governorate, arresting seven highly dangerous criminals involved in importing and distributing narcotics.
Investigations conducted by the General Directorate for Drug Control, in coordination with other ministry units, revealed that the gang had been smuggling large quantities of drugs into the country for distribution. They had set up three secret storage warehouses in a desert area within the jurisdiction of El-Ganayen Police Department in Suez to conceal their illegal stock.
After obtaining the necessary legal permissions, the police launched a series of coordinated raids, resulting in the arrest of all seven suspects and the seizure of:
2.25 tons of Hydro narcotic substance
367 kilograms of hashish
6,000 Tramadol tablets
The total market value of the confiscated drugs was estimated at approximately 180 million Egyptian pounds.
