Security forces from Egypt’s Ministry of Interior successfully dismantled a major drug trafficking network operating in Suez Governorate, arresting seven highly dangerous criminals involved in importing and distributing narcotics.

Investigations conducted by the General Directorate for Drug Control, in coordination with other ministry units, revealed that the gang had been smuggling large quantities of drugs into the country for distribution. They had set up three secret storage warehouses in a desert area within the jurisdiction of El-Ganayen Police Department in Suez to conceal their illegal stock.

After obtaining the necessary legal permissions, the police launched a series of coordinated raids, resulting in the arrest of all seven suspects and the seizure of:

2.25 tons of Hydro narcotic substance
 367 kilograms of hashish
 6,000 Tramadol tablets

The total market value of the confiscated drugs was estimated at approximately 180 million Egyptian pounds.

Legal measures have been taken, as part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing strategy to combat organized crime and dismantle drug trafficking networks across Egypt, ensuring public safety and social stability
