Egyptian security authorities have arrested a woman in Alexandria who exploited her 5-year-old daughter for begging, after a video showing her assaulting the child circulated online.
The suspect admitted to using her daughter to solicit money from passersby, and legal action was taken against her.
Separately, the Interior Ministry investigated a viral post claiming a stabbing in Ismailia. The investigation found it was merely a verbal altercation between individuals which ended in reconciliation. The person who posted the false claim admitted to spreading it for increased views and financial gain and has been apprehended, with legal measures applied.
