The North Giza Prosecution is conducting extensive investigations into a tragic incident in the Warraq district, where a 17-year-old boy died after being detained and abused inside an apartment by his father in an attempt to stop him from using the drug known as “ice.”
Investigations revealed that the victim’s body showed multiple bruises and abrasions across various parts of his body, along with signs of rope restraint around his hands and feet and facial discoloration, indicating severe physical abuse before death.
Authorities stated that the father had been attempting to treat his son’s addiction after failed efforts to admit him to a rehabilitation facility. He eventually brought him back home, tied him inside a room for two days, and prevented him from eating or drinking while continuing the assault.
During this period, the teenager’s condition deteriorated until he died inside the room. The father later discovered his son’s death and informed security forces, who arrived immediately at the scene.
The body was transferred to the morgue under the supervision of the public prosecution, which ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death and ordered the father’s detention for four days pending investigation, while legal procedures continue.
