Elderly Man Arrested for Harassing Bank Employee Inside Minibus in Giza
Security forces in Giza arrested an elderly man accused of sexually harassing a female bank employee inside a minibus in the El-Monira El-Gharbeya area. Legal action has been taken against him.
The Giza Security Directorate announced the arrest of an elderly man accused of harassing a female employee at a well-known bank while they were on a minibus in the El-Monira El-Gharbeya district. The incident occurred when the man allegedly touched the woman inappropriately, prompting her to file an official complaint.
According to the police report, the victim, who works at a major bank, stated that the suspect sat beside her and deliberately touched her in an indecent manner. Shocked and distressed, she immediately reported the matter to the nearest police station.
Upon receiving the complaint, police forces quickly located and arrested the suspect. During questioning, the elderly man confessed to the act, claiming it was unintentional, while the victim confirmed her statements before investigators.
A police report was filed, and the suspect was referred to the Public Prosecution, which ordered his detention pending further investigations and possible trial.
In a separate case, Giza security services arrested a municipal official from Al-Omrania district after he was caught accepting a 30,000 EGP bribe from a butcher in exchange for approving a shop license beneath a bridge.
Police set up a sting operation, recording the transaction on video and audio, and arrested the suspect red-handed. Legal procedures have been initiated, and the case has been referred to prosecution authorities.
