Case Details

Egyptian investigative authorities have referred an employee to the Criminal Court after completing investigations into a case involving the alleged forgery of an official court ruling in favor of Contact Bavarian.

According to the referral order, the forged ruling falsely declared the company free of tax liabilities amounting to approximately EGP 9,751,627 for the 2008 and 2009 tax periods.

Charges Against the Employee

The referral order stated that the 39-year-old defendant allegedly committed the offenses during 2021 while performing his official duties.

Prosecutors accused him of collaborating with an unidentified individual to fabricate an official judicial ruling by inserting false information into the judgment, claiming the company had been cleared of its tax obligations despite no such ruling ever being issued.

Abuse of Official Position

Investigators said the defendant exploited his official position by submitting the forged draft judgment to a court employee responsible for recording judgments, before delivering the final document to another employee in the judgments department.

Authorities believe he relied on the employees' good faith to complete the normal administrative procedures, giving the forged ruling an appearance of authenticity.

He also faces charges of forging the signatures of the judicial panel and using those forged signatures to legitimize the fabricated document.

Hiding the Case File

The investigation further alleges that the defendant concealed the original case file to prevent the forgery from being discovered.

Prosecutors stated that all alleged offenses formed part of a single criminal scheme aimed at passing the forged judgment without detection.

Following the conclusion of the investigation and the availability of sufficient evidence, prosecutors referred the defendant to the competent Criminal Court to face trial on all charges.
