Engineer Harassed and Beaten in Imbaba: Sister of the Accused Attacks Her with a Stick
A shocking incident unfolded in Imbaba when a young female engineer was verbally and physically harassed by a drunk man, before being assaulted with a wooden stick by his sister in the middle of the street.
The streets of Imbaba witnessed a disturbing scene on Friday night as 25-year-old engineer Rahma was subjected to verbal and physical harassment by a drunken man, followed by an attack from his sister wielding a wooden stick.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident began when the victim left her grandmother’s house and was stopped by a man who began hurling obscene comments at her. When she attempted to stop him, saying “Have some respect,” he approached and harassed her physically, prompting her to scream for help.
Moments later, another young woman — later identified as the harasser’s sister — ran toward Rahma and struck her repeatedly with a stick. Locals intervened and managed to protect the victim, who appeared to be in shock and distress.
Police were called to the scene after residents insisted that Rahma file an official report. She was escorted to Imbaba Police Station, where she lodged complaint No. (9630/2025), while the suspects fled.
Rahma demanded the arrest of the perpetrators and the review of nearby surveillance footage, expressing her confidence in Egypt’s Ministry of Interior and its firm stance on harassment and gender-based violence.
