40,000 Cigarette Packs Seized
The campaigns resulted in the seizure of a vehicle carrying a large quantity of unidentified cigarettes that were not authorized for circulation in local markets.
Authorities reported seizing 40,000 cigarette packs and took the necessary legal measures. A report was prepared, and the suspect was referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation.
Spoiled Chicken and Shawarma Seized
Following complaints from residents regarding the use of unfit food products by some restaurants, inspection teams seized 12 kilograms of spoiled chicken pieces deemed unfit for human consumption at a restaurant in Fayoum city.
The teams also seized 15 kilograms of chicken shawarma deemed unfit for human consumption at another restaurant in Fayoum city following examination by a food safety committee.
The seized products were placed in a refrigerated facility, and the necessary reports were prepared for referral to the Public Prosecution.
Two Tons of Unregistered Agricultural Products Seized
Inspection teams also seized two tons of agricultural fertilizers and pesticides that were not registered with the Ministry of Agriculture and had no identified source or origin.
The products were being transported in a light truck before being sold to farmers and were reportedly headed toward Beni Suef Governorate.
Reports Issued for Health and Pricing Violations
The inspection campaigns also resulted in 10 reports for the absence of health certificates among representatives selling food products.
In addition, five reports were issued for failing to display prices across various commercial activities.
Authorities continued monitoring markets to ensure that businesses comply with regulations governing the display and sale of goods.
Monitoring Bakeries, Restaurants and Fuel Stations
The campaigns included inspections of tourist bakeries to monitor prices and weights, as well as restaurants selling traditional foods, supermarkets and warehouses distributing subsidized flour.
Inspections also covered cooking gas depots, gas agencies, fuel stations, butcher shops, markets and street stalls.
The teams monitored prices, distribution practices and compliance with official pricing requirements, while also checking licenses and commercial records.
Vegetable and fruit prices were also monitored as part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with market regulations and protect consumers.
