The Economic Court is set to issue its verdict on Saturday, February 14, regarding the appeal of the blogger known as "Qamar Al-Wakala" against a 6-month jail sentence and a 100,000 EGP fine, with a 5,000 EGP bail to suspend imprisonment.
The appeal follows the original sentence linked to publishing videos on social media containing indecent language and scenes offensive to public morals.
Investigations revealed that "Qamar Al-Wakala," a cosmetics seller from Bulaq Abu Al-Ela, frequently appeared on live streams to promote unknown cosmetic products to attract views and generate profits. Some of her videos reportedly included inappropriate language and scenes, prompting repeated complaints and leading the Public Prosecution to issue an arrest order.
