Authorities in Fayoum have clarified the details of a family dispute that erupted over an acquittal ruling in a child assault case. A video circulated online claimed that one family attacked a person following the court decision.
Investigations revealed that the incident occurred on January 27, when a verbal altercation broke out between two groups: the first group of 4 people from the child’s family, and the second group of 6 people from the accused’s family, all residents of the Itsaa police district. The dispute was linked to a previous allegation against one of the accused’s siblings, who had been acquitted on appeal.
After detaining the second group, they stated that during their celebration of the acquittal, they were insulted by members of the child’s family. Legal measures were taken, and authorities are continuing investigations into the case.
