Details of the Alexandria Finishing Workers’ Fight
Investigations showed that on August 9, a report was filed with Bab Sharq Police Station regarding a fight inside a property within the station’s jurisdiction. The fight involved a first party consisting of a finishing contractor and five workers, while the second party consisted of eight workers. All those involved reside in Alexandria or Dakahlia governorates.
Dispute Over Finishing Work
According to the investigation, the dispute began after the second party objected to the first party entering the property to complete finishing work in several units. The disagreement escalated, with members of both sides assaulting one another.
Competition Over Contracting Work
The dispute also escalated when members of the first party attempted to enter the premises of a company located inside the same property to confront the second party over competition for contracting work.
Both Sides Arrested
Security forces arrested both sides of the fight at the time of the incident. During questioning, they admitted to being involved in the incident as described and confirmed that the dispute over finishing and contracting work had led to the confrontation. Legal procedures were taken, and the Public Prosecution assumed responsibility for investigating the incident.
