Amid rising flames and rapid emergency response, civil protection forces in Gharbia managed to bring a major fire under control at a scrap factory in Mit Habish village, located in the Tanta district, preventing what could have escalated into a far more serious incident.
The incident began after security authorities received a report of a fire breaking out inside the factory. Security leaders and police units promptly arrived at the scene to monitor developments, where initial findings suggested that an electrical short circuit caused the blaze.
Firefighting teams deployed three fire engines to combat the flames. Through coordinated efforts, responders were able to fully contain the fire and stop it from spreading to nearby areas.
No injuries or fatalities were reported. However, preliminary estimates place the material losses at approximately 3 million Egyptian pounds, pending further investigation into the full circumstances of the incident.
A formal report was filed, and the public prosecution was notified to begin its investigation, while criminal investigation teams continue examining the scene to determine the exact causes and contributing factors behind the fire.
