Egyptian security authorities revealed details of a social media video showing several children making offensive gestures toward passengers aboard a train while it was stopped at Anshas Railway Station in Sharqia.

In a separate case, authorities also arrested 15 suspects accused of forming a criminal group that allegedly defrauded citizens by promising to invest their money through an online platform.

Details of the Incident at Anshas Station

Investigations identified the children shown in the video as four students residing in Belbeis Police Department's jurisdiction in Sharqia.

They were summoned and appeared accompanied by their families. During questioning, they admitted carrying out the incident shown in the video on September 5, stating that it had been done as an act of play.

The necessary legal measures were taken.

15 Suspects Arrested in Online Fraud Case

In a separate investigation, information gathered by the General Administration for Combating Information Technology Crimes indicated that a criminal group was allegedly defrauding citizens and taking their money by claiming they could invest it on an online platform.

The suspects allegedly promoted the platform as a way to market a coffee product under the name PILON, while promising users increasing financial returns through registering on the platform and electronically marketing its product in exchange for a percentage of the profits through electronic wallets.

Equipment and Items Seized

After completing the necessary legal procedures and coordinating with the Public Security Sector, authorities arrested 15 criminal suspects across several governorates.

The seized items included:

  • 168 mobile phone SIM cards.
  • 15 bank cards.
  • 24 electronic wallets.
  • 10 cryptocurrency wallets.
  • Promotional materials.
  • 31 mobile phones.
  • One laptop computer.

An examination of the seized devices and materials revealed evidence allegedly confirming the suspects' criminal activity.

When confronted, the suspects admitted carrying out the activity as described.

Value of Seized Items and Investigation

The financial value of the seized items was estimated at approximately EGP 3 million.

Legal procedures were taken against the suspects, while the Public Prosecution took over the investigation.
