In a new development in a shocking murder case, the Shubra El-Kheima Criminal Court (First Appeal Circuit) has issued a final ruling sentencing a worker to 15 years of hard labor for killing his neighbor and stealing his belongings in El-Khosous, Kalyubia, after revoking a previous death sentence.

The verdict was delivered under the presidency of Judge Fawzy Yahya Abu Zeid, with Judges Diaa El-Din Abdel Moneim Shawqi, Hussein Rashdy Hussein, Ahmed Shawky Abdel Latif, and Islam Mohamed Abu El-Nasr, and court secretary Helmy Mahmoud.

According to investigations, the incident occurred on Friday, March 1, 2024, when the defendant, Montaser A. N. A., aged 46, residing in El-Abyad Village, Abu Zaabal – El-Khanka, planned and carried out the murder of his neighbor Ragab Abdel Gaber Nour El-Din Abdallah using a knife he had prepared in advance.

After stabbing the victim several times, the perpetrator stole cash, a mobile phone, and clothing before fleeing the scene. The Prosecution charged him with premeditated murder, armed robbery, and possession of an unlicensed weapon.

Upon reconsideration, the court decided to reduce the sentence from death to 15 years of imprisonment, citing mitigating circumstances, while maintaining all related legal penalties.
