The Cairo New Families Court has reserved the appeal of former footballer Ibrahim Saeed against the decision preventing him from traveling, with judgment scheduled for March 4.
Previously, the Nozha Family Court had sentenced Saeed to one month in prison for failing to pay accumulated child support amounting to 150,000 EGP, filed by his ex-wife.
Earlier rulings by the Maadi Court also sentenced him to a month in prison over a claim by his ex-wife, Ebtisam Alaa, for failing to pay 90,750 EGP in arrears for child support and bedding allowance over 15 months, at 6,000 EGP per month for food and clothing expenses.
His ex-wife’s lawyer confirmed that Saeed failed to pay a total of 6,050 EGP monthly, covering 6,000 EGP for food and clothing and 50 EGP for bedding, despite a Cairo Family Court of Appeals decision obliging him to pay starting January 1, 2018, for 15 months.
