The Egyptian prosecution has ordered the referral of social media content creator Mohamed Khaled, known as “Madahm,” to criminal trial on charges of posting indecent and unethical videos on social media platforms to attract views and earn money.
Investigations revealed that “Madahm” had been detained earlier for 45 days pending investigations into producing and broadcasting inappropriate videos deemed offensive to public morals.
Security forces arrested the blogger in New Cairo following several complaints filed by citizens and lawyers accusing him of spreading indecent and socially offensive material online. Authorities confirmed that he used his online presence to generate income through increased engagement on his TikTok and Instagram accounts.
When arrested in Qanater El-Khairia, Qalyubia, police found large sums of money in local and foreign currency, gold jewelry, and quantities of hashish and opium in his possession.
According to legal sources, the charges against him fall under Egypt’s efforts to combat inappropriate digital content as part of a broader social campaign known as “Cleansing Society,” aimed at curbing vulgar and unethical behavior on social media platforms.
