The Ministry of Interior continues to intensify its nationwide traffic enforcement campaigns to maintain discipline and safety across Egypt’s roads and highways. Over the past 24 hours, authorities recorded 110,096 various traffic violations, including driving without licenses, speeding, illegal parking, using mobile phones while driving, and violations of licensing conditions.

During inspections, 1,599 drivers were tested for drug use, revealing 77 positive cases, who were referred for legal action to ensure road safety and prevent accidents.

Additionally, in separate operations along the Regional Ring Road, law enforcement recorded 914 traffic violations, including wrong-way driving, unauthorized passenger loading, and vehicle safety infractions. Drug tests conducted on 146 drivers showed 10 positive cases, while 17 fugitives were arrested with 31 outstanding prison sentences. Authorities also impounded two vehicles for violating traffic laws.

In a related initiative, the Public Prosecution recently announced the continuation of its cooperation protocol with Banque Misr to allow citizens to pay traffic fines in installments without interest or administrative fees during August, aiming to ease financial burdens.

Citizens holding Banque Misr credit cards were urged to benefit from the program within the specified period. The Public Prosecution also confirmed its intention to expand the initiative to other banks to further facilitate payment processes for citizens.
