Judicial authorities have ordered the detention of four suspects for four days pending investigations, following their involvement in the armed robbery of a Fawry branch in Kerdasa, Giza Governorate, during Friday prayers.

According to security investigations, the suspects devised a detailed plan for the heist. They used a private car without license plates, with one suspect remaining inside as the driver, while another monitored the street. Meanwhile, two masked suspects armed with shotguns stormed into the branch, threatening staff members and a security guard.

The suspects seized the employees’ mobile phones to prevent them from reporting the incident, before stealing approximately EGP 4 million, which they stuffed into a large sack before fleeing in the car.

However, their escape attempt failed when the vehicle broke down on a nearby street. This allowed local residents to intervene, apprehend the suspects, and hand them over to the police, who launched a full investigation into the incident.
