The Juvenile Criminal Court in Ismailia, headed by Judge Khaled Al-Deeb, sentenced the minor Yusuf “A.H.”, 14 years old, to 15 years in a social care facility for killing his classmate and dismembering the body with an electric device.

Delay and Verdict

The court had previously postponed the verdict to review earlier pleadings. The defense attorney refused to plead, requested the summoning of the Minister of Education, and sought a second psychiatric evaluation. The court issued the verdict after confirming the minor’s mental soundness.

Psychiatric Report

A psychiatric report from the Regional Council for Mental Health in Cairo confirmed that the minor was fully aware and mentally competent at the time of the crime, able to distinguish right from wrong, making him fully criminally responsible.

Confession and Nature of the Crime

The minor admitted to the crime following a dispute with the victim. He lured the victim to his home in the New Station area, attacked him with a metal tool to the head and neck, then ended his life with a large knife, and dismembered the body into six parts in an attempt to conceal the crime.

Charges Against the Minor

  1. Premeditated murder with intent and planning to conceal the crime.

  2. Kidnapping by deceit to lure the victim.

  3. Theft of the victim’s mobile phone.

  4. Possession of two knives and swords without legal justification.

  5. Possession of assault tools, such as an electric device and iron, without professional or legal reason.

The verdict was issued after reviewing all evidence, confessions, and the psychiatric report, confirming the crime was committed with full awareness and responsibility.
