Lawyer Mohamed Mounir, representing Jody in the case involving the fatal collision with a tea seller in Al-Haram Gardens, confirmed that his client has appealed the sentence against her.
He said a hearing to consider the appeal is expected to be scheduled during the first week of October.
Mounir explained that both Jody and Marwan filed appeals on the same day the judgment was issued, stressing that the ruling is not yet final pending the outcome of the appeal.
Jody’s Educational Status
Jody’s lawyer said her educational situation will continue to be monitored, particularly because she is still in school.
He added that if the sentence is upheld, the necessary legal procedures could be taken to allow her to sit for her examinations by obtaining authorization for her attendance and submitting documents confirming that she is in custody.
Her educational arrangements will therefore depend on the outcome of the appeal and the final ruling in the case.
Sentence Against Jody and Marwan
The Child Misdemeanor Court in 6th of October previously issued its ruling against Jody and Marwan in the case involving the death of Hadeer, a tea seller in Al-Haram Gardens, Giza, and the injury of another woman.

The ruling was issued under the leadership of Counselor Mahmoud Suleiman, with Counselors Ahmed Atwa and Islam Eid as members of the panel, in the presence of Public Prosecution representative Ahmed Ayman and court secretary Karim Montawy.
Defendants Referred to Trial
The Public Prosecution had referred the defendants to trial after completing its investigation into the incident.
The case began after authorities received a report of a traffic collision that resulted in the death of the tea seller and injuries to another woman while they were at their workplace.

Investigators also heard statements from the injured woman and several eyewitnesses to establish the circumstances of the incident.
Investigation Details on Who Was Driving
